It is being reported that Tony Adams made a surprise return to training today, and is likely to partner Gilles Grimandi in
defence tomorrow. While Gilles did ok (in the end) alongside
Martin Keown on Wednesday, the thought of his being the
senior partner on the pitch is a little worrying for
those of use who remember Old Tartford last year.
Reuters confirm the story, and quote Wenger as saying today, "We expected him to be out for at least another week, but he trained yesterday and it was good. He will play tomorrow."
Lee Dixon is still out, but Oleg Luzhny returns. So we could
see him step in at right back to give Lauren a well-earned rest before the game in Greece next Wednesday.
Since Dennis Bergkamp won't be making that trip, we may well
see him up front tomorrow. I've a feeling Henry will be rested.
And Inamoto's appearance towards the end on Wednesday could be
an indication of something too: maybe one or more of Pires/Vieira/Ljungberg will be left out.
