Great news from the Arsenal gym: injured Sol Campbell has followed skipper Tony Adams' example with a surprisingly early return to
training.
Scans have shown that his hamstring injury is only minor,
with no torn fibres. He is already in light training - exercise bikes in the gym.
Wenger says it's unlikely that he'll be ready for the Greece
game (and with Keown, Brown, Southgate, and others available
Eriksson would be crazy to risk him). But the way Wenger puts it suggests there is a chance of him being available for our next Premiership match.
"If he's not fit to play for us against Derby (this coming Saturday) then I do not think it would be good for him to play for England (the following Saturday). He would not have tested the injury properly".
Of course, if Adams and Keown are both available, it would also
not be sensible to risk too early a return for Arsenal either.
But there's bad news for Lee Dixon, who will be out for a while longer after having surgery on his knee. It'd be a crying shame
if he didn't get to play in his final year at the club.
