David Seaman's shoulder injury, which sounded like it
was nearly better when he missed the last England game,
is now looking even worse than we'd imagined.
Seaman misses his 8th game in a row today. And with his
shoulder failing to respond to treatment is now facing
the prospect of surgery.
The Observer quotes a source at Arsenal as saying,
"He could be out for two weeks or 12. He has a problem at 2
or 3 points in the shoulder but we are hoping to avoid
him having the operation and that it heals with rest. A
decision will be taken in the next week."
At the moment I think most people agree that Seaman still has
an edge over Wright (although we're happy to see Wright getting
the experience he needs). But if Seaman does turn out to need
an op, he could find himself
fighting to regain his position for both Arsenal and England.
