Robert Pires may miss Arsenal's games in the Christmas period.

The French international was kicked in the ankle against West Ham, and may miss up to three weeks.

Meeting Newcastle, Liverpool and Chelsea without Pires, arguably the club's best player this season, is a daunting prospect.

If Fredrik Ljungberg isn't ready after his injury, manager Arsène Wenger may give Edu a string of games on the left side of midfield. The Brazilian came in as a substitute against West Ham.
