Henry fitness boost, FA hearing + bleating Bobby by Rupe

Tests on the abdominal injury which kept Thierry Henry out of the spectacular trip to Newcastle on Saturday have eased our fears somewhat.

Wenger is reported as saying, "There was no rupture, just a strain of his fibres" (stomach muscles). Apparently, there is a good chance of Derby being entertained by his talents tomorrow.

He could be getting an enforced rest after that game. The FA are looking at the incident after December's home loss to Newcastle, in a meeting on Wednesday. Any ban would start immediately (but would only affect domestic comps, thankfully).

A few words on Bobby Robson's moaning about how Henry ought to have been banned before the Newcastle match. First off, HA HA! We battered you without him anyway! Secondly, isn't it a little pathetic moaning about all this (and especially the claim that the Arsenal are benefitting from FA favouritism), given that the universally criticised reffing of that match worked out very much in Newcastle's favour. Not only did they win the game thanks largely to a terrible penalty decision, but their dodgy red card got overturned whereas our Ray Parlour served a suspension for his.

Maybe Bobby and others will come to regret the advantage they took in that game. That 3-1 home loss in December is the last time we lost a game. And who can forget that the extraordinary run leading to the 1998 double was sparked by a 3-1 home loss to Blackburn in December of that season?
