Yesterday we reported that Thierry Henry's three match ban would start on March 21st. This was confirmed by both the FA and Arsenal.
But the FA today said that because Arsenal have chosen not to appeal against Henry's ban that his suspension will start with immediate effect.
That means that Thierry will now sit out Saturday's cup game with Newcastle and the Premiership games against Aston Villa and West Ham. That is unless we draw with Newcastle on Saturday when Henry will miss the replay instead of the West Ham game.
Confusing business this suspension thing!
Rupe adds...
Just out of curiosity, has anyone heard of the FA doing this before? I've come across bans getting delayed because of appeals,
but never of bans getting brought forward. The FA have, as far as we can tell, unilaterally chosen to change the start date of
Henry's suspension. Is there a precedent for this...?
