Patrick Vieira has made the clearest statement yet regarding his future. And it's good news....
He told ITV Sport:
"I have two years left on my contract and the
only way I will leave is if the club tell me
they don't want me to stay any more."
"I am with the club until my contract is over, so
I'm just going to do my time until the end of the season.
I will try to do my best and try to win the Premier League
and the FA Cup, and I will come back next season."
"You want me to leave, or what? People will talk. People
say what they want to say. My relationship with the club
and the boss is fantastic, so that is not in my mind, and
I told you before what is going to happen."
"I have two years left on my contract and that's it. In
my mind, everything is clear."
It's no great surprise to those of us who don't swallow the red-tops' rumours, but judging by my mailbox it'll be a relief to
many of our readers!
So, let the transfer gossip focus not on who's going to
replace Vieira, but on who's going to partner him. Parlour, Edu, van Bommel, Ferguson.... ? |
