Robert Pires is to have his operation on Thursday in Marseilles.
It will take between 5 and 6 months for him to return to action.
Arsene Wenger told Arsenal.com "I expect Robert will be back in October, or maybe November, if we start his recovery from May 1."
Meanwhile Sol Campbell could make a quick return from hamstring trouble. He is targeting the Bolton game on Monday, hoping to
play himself back into contention for the Cup Final (never mind
the World Cup, eh?). Sylvain Wiltord returns to training tomorrow, so it looks like he'll have to be push it a bit
to get to start the final.
