If there was any likelihood of Lee Dixon playing against Panathinaikos, it's gone now. UEFA have decided that he started the argy-bargy with Tony Vairelles of Lens at Wembley - even though the referee didn't see fit to book him - and have slapped a one-match ban on him. There is still a chance that it might be extended further. (A decision will come at the UEFA disciplinary board meeting on 21 Jan 99) As expected, Parlour misses out following his red card, but that might also be extended as his misdemeanour was deemed to be 'an act of violence'. Goodness me Arsene, you'll have to play a team of reserves the way things are going! :) |
