In this statement on their website, the FA confirm that they are NOT to bring
charges against Thierry Henry for elbowing John Robinson during the stroll in The Valley on Saturday.
"The matter has not been referred to the Video Advisory Panel and the investigation is now closed."
Can't help feeling that the much publicised comparison between this incident and the Beckham one on Lee Bowyer had some
effect here. Due to the FA's ridiculous rules, the fact that the ref saw the Beckham incident meant that they could not refer it
to the Video Nasty Panel. The rule appears to be based on the fact that referees never make mistakes.
If it hadn't been for the contrast, if the Henry incident had
been looked at in complete isolation, surely he would have been
justly punished for being the dirty Arsenal Frenchman that he is.
