The Mirror are reporting
that Martin Keown could be set to miss the FA Cup 5th round clash at Old Trafford.
Apparently he "is expected to face a misconduct charge" relating
to an incident in our last match against Man Utd, when he is alleged to have given
Ruud van Nistelrooy a bit of a slap. Well-deserved (if proved), we are sure, but not strictly allowed. Keown has appealed the charge, and it looks like the timing of the hearing might be such that United end up with the benefit (some of it, that is,
the penalty could be as much as a 3 game ban and a fine).
Arsene Wenger is said to be furious at the timing (get over it)
and has pledged to fight the case.
Keown is also banned from tomorrow night's Premiership match at Liverpool.
None of this is going to make any of us any less unhappy about the sale of Matthew Upson. Come on Pascal, it's time to prove us wrong! |
