Today's lead story on the back of the Mirror: Nicolas Anelka has made the 'bizarre claim' that he is being plagued by encounters with ghosts.

'I'm tired from playing against ghosts in my sleep,' reads their quote. 'I was feeling jaded before the match against Leicester and for a week now I've been waking up in the middle of the night running with sweat - and I don't know why. I have the impression that I'm playing matches against ghosts. I don't really know whether they are dreams or nightmares.'

Perhaps it lost a little something in translation.
