We're so lucky to have Thierry Henry playing for us. The guy is an absolute legend, and is deservedly sweeping almost every individual award available. And if anyone points out that it was van Divealot who won the Golden Boot, Opta shows that TH14 scored the most goals from open play. 8 of van Divealot's goals have come from the penalty spot - he has an excellent strike partnership with Man Utd striker Mike Riley.
Wenger said, "I always remember who was the best player in a season. I cannot remember who wins the Golden Boot, it is always the best player in a season that stands out for me."
Thierry Henry has won:
- PFA Player of the Year
- Writer's Player of the Year
- Opta Player of the Season
- PFA Fans' Player of the Season
- Arsenal Player of the Season
- ITV Goal of the Season
As Allyboy says, "It's a pity Opta don't give points for diving - otherwise van Divealot would have accummulated more points than the whole Liverpool team put together."
Looking at Henry's Opta stats, it beggars belief that he is only 25 and still improving. As a striker, he has scored the most goals of any other striker in the league from open play - 21 - three clear of James Beattie and four clear of van Divealot.
Besides being a quick-fire striker, Henry also provides ammunition for his team mates, and set a new record of 20 assists in a 38-game season, the previous record being only 15 shared by Solano, Pires ad Beckham.
Goal Assists
Thierry Henry: 20
Ryan Giggs: 11
Dennis Bergkamp: 8
Most Assists in a Season
2002/03 - Thierry Henry: 20
2001/02 - Robert Pires: 15

1999/00 - David Beckham: 15
1998/99 - David Beckham: 14
Phenomenal pace with excellent ball control, he has attempted the most dribbles of any player in the league, 367 to be exact.
Dribbles and Runs
Thierry Henry: 367
Luis Fernandes: 320
Nicolas Anelka: 257
Having the most dribbles doesn't mean anything if you don't finish the run off with a key pass or a shot at goal. Henry also has had the most shots on goal of any other player in the league.
Shots
Henry: 153
Anelka: 116
Beattie: 106
With the players, the media and official statistics concurring, there can be no doubt that Thierry Henry deserves to be recognised as the best player in the 2002-03 Premiership.
And he plays for Arsenal. That alone is reason enough to celebrate.
