The media are exhaustingly full of reports about whether Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires will sign new contracts with Arsenal or not.

The consensus is that they probably will, having stated several times that they enjoy life at the club and have no desire to leave. However, the prospect of two of the best players in the Premier League becoming free agents next summer is too mouth-watering for any true professional with papers to sell.

According to the Sun, Pires is poised to sign on the same terms as Thierry Henry, who signed his new deal earlier this summer.

Earlier, Vieira told the paper: "I want Arsenal and myself to grow bigger together.

"So I will remain faithful to the club despite all the rumours being put out by my pseudo-agent."
