Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger blasts the Football Association after Sol Campbell was threatened with a three match ban for kicking out at an opponent in the Community Shield. The England international has been reported to the Football Association by referee Steve Bennett, who admitted he would have taken action if he had spotted the incident. Campbell retaliated after Manchester United's Eric Djemba Djemba stamped him, and Wenger feels that the original foul should be reviewed as well. More in the Times, the Guardian and the Sun. If Campbell's kick on the back of Djemba Djemba's leg is deemed to be violent conduct, the defender will be suspended for three matches, ITV reports. Francis Jeffers is already suspended th next three games after being sent off in the same game.
