The latest news on Ashley Cole's injury (strangely
described as a 'boost' for Arsenal by some) is that
he's at least 3 weeks away from a return, but is expected
back before the end of March.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the sprained ankle
"...is on the left foot and it is nothing to do with the
surgery he had before, but it is still a pain that stops
you from playing." It's definitely nothing worse than a
sprain, which is good news of course. But with Gael Clichy
also out for at least as long,
I'd hardly call it a 'boost'.
Sol Campbell, according to Wenger,
"...is doing very well in training. I believe he will be out
for another two weeks maximum. One week to get back to full
training and another week to get back for a run-out in a game."
The latest addition to the injury list is Robert Pires,
who won't be going to Craven Cottage for the match tomorrow.
But he's only got the 'flu so hopefully he won't be out long.
Manuel Almunia is also out, with a hand injury.
The good news is that Freddie Ljungberg has recovered from the
calf problem which saw him miss our loss
to Blackburn last weekend and Sweden's loss to Ireland on
Wednesday. Dennis Bergkamp is also available again, after
missing a few games with a hamstring problem. |
