Leeds winger/forward Harry Kewell has emerged as Arsène Wenger's main transfer target this summer - even ahead of a new goalkeeper. Reports in the Mirror suggest that a swap deal will be made for the 24 year old Aussie international. Arsenal players who risk moving to Yorkshire include Ray Parlour, who has been a target for Leeds manager Peter Reid ever since his days at Sunderland, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, possibly redundant with the emergence of Ryan Garry and the signing of Kewell and Francis Jeffers, who is always touted as the odd striker out at Highbury. Kewell won't rule anything out, as this Reuters report tells us. Manchester United are Arsenal's main rivals for his signature, but the Sun reports that Kewell fears an angry backlash from Leeds fans if he moves to Old Trafford - like Rio Ferdinand has got. The Mirror also re-states the claim that the same two top teams vie for the services of Leeds' international goalkeeper Paul Robinson. But with Wenger's cramped transfer budget, it's unlikely he'll sign both.
