Valencia goalkeeper Santiago Caņizares have not been told about any Arsenal bid. The 33-year-old Spain international have been named as a potential successor for David Seaman all through the summer. Caņizares claims in Spanish paper Marca that his agent met Arsenal directors a month ago to speak about his contract situation, but that no bid was made. "I am grateful to [Arsčne] Wenger who thought of me because he is a prestige coach and I admire him but I have had no offer," Caņizares says. English report at Sporting Life.
