As expected, there's a been a bit of action on the rumour mill front in Africa this week.
You may have seen that Ajax's 27 year-old Tunisian defender Hatem Trabelsi is said to be angling for a move to Chelsea or Arsenal. Well, that's what the headlines say. If you look at the reports it seems like he's fancies Juventus, Man Utd, pretty much any big club outside Amsterdam really. Good luck to him, but we don't think there's a big chance of him joining the Arsenal.
One that you might not have heard of but who we really hope does join is young Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech.
They showed some impressive clips of the 19-year old on the BBC the other day. But never mind his pace and skill, it's his attitude that caught a few Arseweb reader's eyes!
"I definitely want to go to England, and to play for Arsenal," he says, "because I like their football".
When the interviewer asked if he'd like to play for Chelsea (apparently there were Chelsea scouts sniffing about), he thought long and hard before agreeing that that would be good, because "...Chelsea is in London so then I could talk to the Arsenal coach and go and play for them".
Exactly the attitude we're looking for in any potential Arsenal player. Or, indeed, in a potential Chelsea player.
He'll go far. Kenya won't, though, they're bottom of their group with 2 losses from 2, and 6 goals against. Nice mention of our mate Dennis in this report of the Mali game (in which Kanoute scored 2 goals on his debut), though it kind of drops off at the end....
"[Mali] appeared vulnerable against the marauding runs of Dennis Oliech.... [who] was a constant thorn in the side of the opposition with his mazy and powerful runs, although he lacked a positive finish. "
