Arsenal have published this list of 17 players who have been released.
The most noteworthy names as regards first team experience are Martin Keown, Kanu, Sylvain Wiltord, and Igors Stapanovs.
Another two are Rami Shaaban and Craig Holloway, which will add fuel to the speculation that Arsenal are to sign another keeper in the summer. We still have Graham Stack and Stuart Taylor, but Wenger has shown in the last couple of years that he doesn't consider 3 goalies to be quite enough.
The rest are youngsters, including Czech striker Michal Papadopolus
Despite speculation about the future of Freddie Ljungberg, there are reports that Arsenal are negotiating a new extension to his contract. |
