Sebastien Svard has gone back to Denmark, joining Brondby on a
season-long loan.
He spent a lot of last season on loan, to FC Copenhagen and Stoke City. And although he has progressed nicely in his time on Arsenal's books, developing into an effective and versatile midfielder, one has to believe that this latest move is the beginning of the end of his Aresnal career.
Arsenal's options in midfield are numerous and breathtaking. As well as the players bought as stars, like Pires and Gilberto, Svard has seen fellow bit-part players like Edu rise to prominence, as well as youngsters like Clichy and Cesc leap-frog him into the reckoning. The only hope he has at Arsenal is in the fact that we keep loaning him out instead of just selling him.
Svard will wear number 6 at Brondby, a club which he says plays like Arsenal (you wish, Seb!). He'll be coached by Michael Laudrup and his assistant Johnny Jensen. The Brondby site has a picture of Seb in his new team's shirt, with Laudrup on his right.
