The BBC is reporting with some authority that Arsenal have signed Real Mallorca's Cameroon international midfielder, Lauren Bisan-Etame Mayer, known as Lauren (bit of a girl's name??), for around £7 million. A buyout clause in his contract allows him to leave the club without its permission - he had apparently been widely expected to go to Parma at the end of the season.

Aged 23, 4 goals from 39 appearances this season, 7 yellow cards, no reds (according to Mallorca's official site). He's said to be a natural 'inside right', and very physical with it. Good news is, he holds a Spanish passport so there's no problems with work permits or foreigner quotas.
