Swiss papers were reporting over the weekend
that Arsène Wenger was
yesterday due to meet Lens midfielder Alex Nyarko
to talk about a possible move.
The reason this is in Swiss papers is that Nyarko used to
play for Basel, and he went to Switzerland to watch a match and
then (allegedly) meet up with Wenger.
They said "A decision could be made by Tuesday.".
Could, indeed.
One from last week which we missed... Thursday's Telegraph
mentioned Lazio's Argentine midfielder Juan Veron being "a surprise target for
Arsenal". No more, no less. No.
And for no reason other than I know you'll enjoy it, this
present from the Press Association came on St Michael's Day....
"Peter Schmeichel was at fault for both goals as his Sporting Lisbon side
lost the Portuguese Cup final replay."
