Soccernet have published this story claiming that Emmanuel Petit is being lined up for a return to the Premiership. Not sure where the conclusion comes from, given what Arsene Wenger actually says in the interview, in which he talks of conversations he's had with Manu recently. Although he admits that "we need Petit's quality", he sasy that he believes that the player will stay at Barcelona. Soccernet speculate that Wenger offered Petit a return to Highbury in those ocnversations. But elsewhere Le Boss is quoted as saying that there isn't really room for any more midfielders of that quality at the club. He clearly has high hopes of Edu.
Meanwhile SoccerAge
reckon that Arsenal had agreed a loan deal with Crystal Palace for Matthew Upson, but that it's been shelved pending the return of Tony Adams and/or Martin Keown. |
