A rumoured merry-go-round of African strikers in European clubs may have som relevance for Arsenal. Pay close attention: Italian top side AC Parma are set to sign Burundi international striker Shabani Nonda from French side AS Monaco, formerly coached by Arsène Wenger, for a princely figure. Nonda has set the French league on fire for at least two seasons. For this reason, Parma wish to part ways with Cameroon's top footballer (expect Lauren), star striker Patrick Mboma. Mboma, before he went to Italy, was the biggest star in Japan's J-League - where Wenger coached before he went to Arsenal. Now, The Beautiful Game are trying to convince us that Sunderland and manager Peter Reid have made an GBP 8 million offer for Mboma to replace... England striker Kevin Phillips! Though not African nor ever coached by Wenger, Phillips is an Arsenal fan 'keen to move south' for about 16 million quid. Phew! So many rumours, so little time!
