 Keeper nonsense update by Rupe

Bob Wilson says Arsenal are no longer interested in Jerzy Dudek, but are looking at another keeper. So, who's it to be?

Ipswich have moved quickly to dispel the (always unlikely) rumours of an Arsenal bid for keeper Richard Wright. Boss George Burley has said, "We have had no offers for Richard. He has recently signed a new contract and I can assure you that he is going nowhere at the moment. .html"

No surprise there, then.

More likely is Coventry's Magnus Hedman. The player was spotted at Highbury a few times last season, and even hinted to an Arsenal fan that he might be with us before long. Admittedly, he was probably playing around, and the fact that he was co-commentating on a game may have influenced his decision to attend.

But against that, he is a class keeper at a crappy club (sorry Coventry fans, it's all relative you know, you're less crappy than most) who have just been relegated. Most keepers of his ability would not be happy to play second fiddle to Seaman, but most of them aren't faced by the prospective alternative of Nationwide football.

Plus there's the following from City Chairman Bryan Richmond, quoted on the official Nationwide league site: ""I am willing to confirm that there is some strong London interest in the player and that we could see a bit of action this week."

Meanwhile Midas soccer are surely just trying to wind us up. David James wants to leave Villa and Midas say "don't rule out Arsenal".

Oh pleeease, let us rule him out.
