Well we all got it wrong... we've actually unveiled Sol Campbell as the new signing!
Campbell left Spurs at the end of last month on a Bosman free transfer, saying the decision was based 'purely on football'. He said he wanted to play in 'major European competitions sooner rather than later' - and was courted by (among others) Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Inter Milan, and Manchester Utd.
He told a London Colney press conference: 'I could have earned more money by going abroad but I felt this was the place to be.' Good man... now go and tell Patrick Vieira.
In the last week, Arsenal reportedly made an improved contract offer for the player, and promised him the number 23 jersey vacated by Nelson Vivas.
He is believed to have joined on a 4-year deal, but we guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow's papers to find out how much he's being paid.
Official confirmation is now on the official site. For more, see Sky Sports.
