Arsenal.com is reporting that we've decided to keep Ivory Coast international Habib 'Kolo' Toure after a trial which included two reserves games, both against West Ham.
The 20 year old has been bought from ASEC Misomas of Abidjan - the Ivory Coast's top club, but you all knew that anyway - for the usual undisclosed fee. Arsene says he is 'very versatile and can play in the centre of the park and at right-back'.
But Le Boss doesn't exactly give him a ringing endorsement when he says: 'We think he has the basic potential to become a very good player. He won't feature in the first team squad immediately as he'll need at least 3-4 months work but you never know, he could feature before the end of the season.'
Toure will apparently wear the no 28 shirt, which can't be good news for Graham Barrett - currently out on loan at Colchester Utd, supposedly until the end of the season. The young Irish striker has scored three in eleven games for the Layer Road side. |
