Please make sure you read the whole of this story,
the first part is inaccurate!
Reuters claim that Arsenal and Chelsea have agreed a deal which would take Icelandic striker Eidur Gudjohnsen from Stamford Bridge to Highbury, with Kanu moving in the opposite direction.
They say that an Arsenal official told them that Gudjohnsen would, subject to a routine medical, be unveiled shortly.
Not content with sticking their necks out on the Gudjohnsen story, Reuters also reckon we're going to sign Rivaldo, whose agent
is said to have been seen in London, and to have confirmed that
talks were going on with a club there.
All very hard to believe, but easier than TribalFootball's latest ("Arsenal renew interest in Leeds rebel Bowyer"). Please, no.
Rupe adds...
It's been revealed that the Gudjohnsen/Rivaldo story was a
hoax. Not that we ever believed it, but it's nice to be able
to confirm 100% that a story's utter rubbish, for a change.
No, we're not "going Tribal Football" !! :-)
We said where the story was suppsoed to come from, and we
retract it now. I won't "name and shame" the person who submitted it because he's a Gooner victim of it too, and
is no doubt as embarrassed as we are.
We must stress that Reuters themselves had no connection
with the hoax story and their news is always reliable. Reuters football stories can be found
