Arsenal's Belgian feeder club Beveren are interested in signing Igors Stepanovs in a permanent deal.

The Latvian international have made only 15 appearances for the first team in two seasons, but raised his profile with crucial tackles and staunch defending in last season's Double campaign.

Beveren have only three central defenders available at the moment, and have sent one of their club directors to London to negotiate the transfer, Planet Football reports.

Several Arsenal players are already loaned to Beveren.
