Arsenal could solve the current goalkeeper crisis by signing Ian Feuer, the former Luton, West Ham and Wimbledon player The 31-year-old has been desperately seeking a club after being released by the Dons last season, but trials with Ipswich and Wycombe came to nothing. Feuer was called in by manager Arsène Wenger to train with Arsenal over the weekend, the Sun reports. He will train with the club again today and is said to be Wenger's preferred option to replace Richard Wright as second choice. Moves for Swede Rami Shaaban and Argentine Carlos Roa would appear to have fallen through, but according to the Sun, Feuer's previous experience of the Premiership makes him a favourite. The American-born goalkeeper, who holds a British passport, is expected to be offered a one-year deal to be David Seaman's understudy. The Times claim that Wenger then will try to sign Turkey international Rüstü Recber when his contract with Fenerbahce expires. |
