Last Friday we reported that the game away to Watford on Saturday 22nd April has been postponed due to our UEFA Cup match on the 20th. The same applies to the Sheffield Wedneday match on the 8th April.
According to the Arsenal web site, no new date had been set
for either match. AFCi's fixture list still lists them as
"to be arranged".
I wondered aloud about why the Watford game wasn't just moved
to the Sunday like every other game this year has been. It was then pointed out that Saracens play Rugby Union at Watford and have a home game against Harlequins that Sunday.
But no. The Saracens web site
says they play Harlequins on the Monday (select "Online diary" then click on "April 2000").
So, what does Watford FC have to say about all this?
Well, this page from the official Watford site,
which is their report of the fixture change (as reported
on Friday) says that the game will be on Sunday 23rd April,
and their fixture list concurs.
I just rang Arsenal box-office and the recorded information confirms the date (but not the kick-off time, which the Watford site says is 3pm).
Not that you'd be doing anything else that day of course. After all, it's only Easter (and the British Grand Prix).
