A new date has been set for the away mnatch at Leicester City,
following the postponement of our New Years Day fixture due to freezing conditions.
The match will be played on Wednesday 23rd January, kicking off at 7.45. See offcicial Leicester site. According to
the subsequent report on the Arsenal site, the game will not be shown on live television. The New Years Day fixture had been scheduled for live pay-per-view coverage.
Presumably, people who paid for it got their money back...?
We could have done without it that week, coming as it does between the away premiership match at Leeds and the FA Cup visit of Liverpool. But better to get it out of the way before the
Champs League starts up again.
Meanwhile, the date and time of that 4th round tie against Liverpool has still not been set. The BBC had been hoping to make it their live match on Sunday 27th, with an evening kick-off. But the Police have prevented this. The Met have a policy of not allowing Sunday evening games in the capital, because of
concerns over potential drunkenness. And it looks like the BBC have failed to persuade them to bend that rule.
