The FA Cup quarter-final replay against Newcastle on
March 23rd will kick-off at 12 noon. Arsenal wanted it later
because of the Juve match the Wednesday before, but their
pleas found no support from the powers-that-be. Still, I
expect we're being favoured somehow by this decision. Bobby Robson and Alex Ferguson couldn't be wrong could they?
Still, it should be long enough to get over the trip. Let's hope
the question of Arsenal excuses doesn't arise.
So that'll be 3 Saturday matches against Newcastle this season,
and not one of them will have started at 3 O'clock. It ain't like the old days.
The winner's semi-final against Middlesbrough has been
set for 4pm on Sunday April 14th, at Old Trafford.
The Chelsea - Fulham semi final was widely expected to be
played at Highbury (Arsenal's premiership match that weekend,
should we lose to Newcastle, is away at Old Trafford). But
it's going to be held at Villa Park at 7 in the evening.
Apparently the Police didn't want the game to be in London because of the marathon which is on that day. |
