Werder game on non-digital satellite TV by Rupe

A few of you have written asking if the Werder Bremen vs Arsenal game tomorrow might be shown on Eurosport. TV listings show that Eurosport have one QF live and another delayed in full later in the evening. So, the question goes, might Eurosport choose to show the Arsenal game?

Our understanding is that Sky have an exclusive contract. So, in the UK, no-one else can show the game. Eurosport do not have a choice and will cover games involving non-English clubs. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

However, anyone with a dish pointed at the Astra satellite should be able to pick up the German channel ARD, which is covering the game. It can be found on channel/transponder 19, between Sky Premier and Sky Sports. Commentary will be in German, of course, but if you don't mind things not quite being in sync you can always turn the radio on for Capital Gold's commentary.

To clarify, the point of this is that it is possible to watch the game (in German) on non-digital satellite TV. If you have Sky digital then just switch to Sky Sports News where you can watch their coverage.

See match preview for team news from both camps, Werder Bremen links, reports from the first leg, etc.
