The BBC is refusing to confirm or deny stories in the press that Arsenal have won the 'team of the year' award in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show. If true, the Gooners will be only the 7th football team in the show's 39 year history to claim the title. As for the winner of the eponymous main award, the nomination process has now closed - the winner will be decided on the night, by (premium rate) telephone vote. |
