The FA has signed a deal with ADSL-based video service Home Choice to allow the showing of Premiership football on demand. In what sounds like an extension of the internet rights due to kick in this season, games will be available on a delayed basis - along with archive games since the Premiership's inception.
It doesn't seem to be any new football, in fact it seems to be feeding off the games being shown live anyway (according to this piece from new media mag Revolution). And in a world of 'personal video recorders' it's hardly earth-shattering. But it's another sign of televised football taking over the world.
Home Choice is currently only available in London and surrounding areas - see here for more if you're interested. |
