Looks like good news for Arsenal fans living outside the reaches of ITV's London area and without ITVdigital: you should still be able to see tonight's Deportivo game if you've got access to a Sky Digital box.
As we mentioned before, ITV is within days of starting a full service on Sky Digital satellite. At the moment, as part of its testing, all ITV regional variations are accessible from anywhere in the country... if you know where to look (but it's not clear if this will continue after the formal launch). Here's how.
On your Sky remote, press 'Services', then '4' (System Setup), then '4' (Add Channels). Type '10832' in the frequency box (the decimal point is automatic); set polarisation to 'H'; set symbol rate to 22.0; and FEC to '5/6'. Select 'find channels' and wait a few seconds - you should see a range of ITV regions displayed, one of which will be ITV1 London. Highlight it, and press the yellow button - a tick should appear. Then press Select.
The channel will be stored in your digibox's memory but will not appear in the programme guide. To get it, press 'Back Up' a couple of times until you can see an option '6' (Other channels), then highlight ITV London and press select.
And you're away - we think. (Certainly it seemed to work the other way round for the Liverpool game last night!) If that fails, there is a highlights show later on ordinary terrestrial telly. Rupe adds...
More good news, for those living in the West Country with access to TeleWest Active Digital.
Tim C. writes...
"Further good news for those outside London area for watching the game tonight. If you live
in the West Country and have Telewest Active Digital, then they are currently carrying an
alternative ITV channel, which at this moment in time happens to be Carlton. I believe that
it is located on Channel 113."
By the way, anyone know if it's possible to pick up the Irish channel
TV3 anywhere in Wales or the West of England?
