Readers hoping for Arseweb to shut up about TV coverage and talk about football - look away now.
If you're angry about being unable to watch Arsenal in Europe, a solution is only a year away... hopefully. The new batch of Champions League broadcast rights have been awarded jointly to ITV and BSkyB... even though the BBC reportedly tabled the highest financial offer, and was even prepared to show some kind of advertising.
Media Guardian reports that from next season, ITV will have the rights to live games on Tuesdays and highlights; Sky gets live football on Wednesdays... and the right to show any live games which ITV chooses to ignore.
Sky's own site elaborates further: in fact, the Sky service will apparently mean every Champions League game will be live in the UK - British teams or no British teams. The final will be live on both Sky and ITV.
One hopes that doesn't mean pay-per-view - and there's no evidence to suggest it might be, but at least that would be better than a total blackout.
