Having examined a report on Arsenal's new stadium plans, Mayor of London Ken Livingstone has written to Islington Council
in positive terms, and act which the club are taking as a "green light".
It's only approval in principle, and no doubt the naysayers will
still be hoping that there's a chance of Ken rejecting the proposals in the final analysis. Even if Islington Council approve the plans, they are of a scale such that the Mayor gets a veto. But this letter can only be good news for the club.
Arsenal still plan to submit revised plans in June, which the council would then decide on by the end of the year.
