BBC News reports that the Government will announce its plans to sell the Millennium Dome later this week. The 300-acre site has been suggested as a possible 'new location' for an Arsenal super-stadium, and certainly would have its attractions. Speaking to a Parliament Committee, the head of English Partnerships (who own the land) said 'possible future uses were leisure, sport, conventions or conferences' - and it's worth bearing in mind that Chris Smith, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, is a Gooner. The sale will be concluded by April 2000. |
