Arsenal have announced some revisions to the plans for
the new stadium at Ashburton Grove.
Among the commendable improvements are:
- A large community health centre, but no private health club.
- Housing increased from 52 to 253 units.
- An extension to Gillespie Park
- Better access to public green space near Lough Rd
- Protection for a chestnut tree
As Ken Friar says, it shows that Arsenal are prepared to listen
to the complaints.
See arsenal.com for full quote and loads
more details.
The decision process enters it's final phase - the consultation phase is over and we're just waiting for the council meeting.
The council say they want comments on the plans before October 6th. The leader of the council, Steve Hitchins,
can be emailed at sarahnsteve@cix.co.uk
(note his email has changed, this one is taken from his Islington Council page which
also contains address etc). See here for other contact addresses etc.
