According to an article in tomorrow's Guardian, Arsenal believe they have finally raised the funds to build the new stadium at Ashburton Grove.
They reckon that Arsenal are preparing a statement for next week's AGM, in which they will announce that a consortium of banks has agreed to act as Arsenal creditors for a £260m loan.
Fingers crossed.
You can read the full article here.
The AGM is on Thursday. With any luck it'll stop all the rumours about Wembley (ugh!) and groundsharing with Tottenham (double-ugh!). And if the story is true, it'll help deflect the AGM from unnecessary discussion of the alleged disciplinary problem.
Rupe adds...
The club have dismissed the rumour described above as "speculation" (see Evenign Standard), although the spokesman added, "we are confident that the money will be raised, as we have said all along."
