One of Liverpool's most recent signings, Czech international midfielder Vladimir Smicer, is rated doubtful before Saturday's Premiership clash with Arsenal.

Smicer has an ankle injury, and is set to miss out meeting Arsenal for the third time in a year. His previous club Lens drew against and beat Arsenal in last season's Champions League group stages.

Liverpool are set to have Norwegian international right back Vegard Heggem back after missing their last game with a thigh strain, according to the Sky Sports website.
