West Ham (1) 2 - 1 (0) Arsenal
Boleyn Ground, Sunday 3rd October 1999
FA Carling Premiership
scorers: Di Canio 29, 72 Suker 77
Two dodgy sendings off (according to the managers,
anyway, see
Football365), and two goals for Paolo Di Canio, in his first
appearance against the Arsenal since the fiasco at Hillsborough
last year. Di Canio was also involved in Vieira's sending off,
appearing to dive to get Paddy a second yellow card.
But even if Vieira is suffereing from his reputation, there's
no excusing his subsequent behaviour, having a go at Ruddock
on his way off. It's just that kind of thing that gets you
the rep, and makes sure it sticks.
