The players may have left the field 4 days ago, but the match between Arsenal and Liverpool and Graham Poll is apparently still continuing.
Gilles Grimandi has now been charged with misconduct, following the apparent stamp on the hand of Gary McAllister - as McAllister lay on his arse following the two-footed challenge which saw him sent off.
Except it shouldn't have been a red card, apparently. Having reviewed the video evidence, the FA has now downgraded McAllister's red card to a yellow. Didi Hamann's red was similarly downgraded earlier in the week... so neither of Liverpool's sendings-off will now stand.
Paddy Vieira's red stands though, and Grimandi's bound to end up with a suspension or fine or something... to go with whatever Arsene gets from his disciplinary charge, of course.
If it wasn't about Arsenal, it would be funny. |
