After last year's fiasco at Valley Parade, and the Bantams' home win over Chelsea not so long ago, we're a bit nervous about the fact that Arsenal are likely to be playing a few
second-string players tomorrow. This is mostly forced by absences, but the chances are that Wenger would have taken a gamble anyway, what with the Champions League opener in Prague coming up 3 days later.
Adams and Vieira are out injured and suspended respectively, and Lauren should be on his way to the Olympics by now, surely? Silvinho is now said to be out (thigh strain) and there are doubts over Dixon so we're looking at Cole at left back, and possibly Rhys Weston coming in too. Stepanovs debut has been scuppered by a training injury.
Up front the chances Bergkamp wiould have started, since he won't be going to Prague, but he's got a thigh strain too, so Wiltord will probably partner one of Kanu and Henry (to keep the other fresh for Tuesday). Midfield probably Pires Parlour and Grimandi togther with one of Malz Vernazza and Ljungberg.
City have Saunders out (he's just had an op) but they've
bought Benito Carbone and Ashley Ward. They have fewer squad problems than us,
especially if Dan Petrescu recovers from injury as expected.
