Sunday's ref Mike Riley has decided to rescind the second yellow card
awarded to Birmingham City midfielder Aliou Cissé during that match, having been asked to reconsider it by City boss Steve Bruce. Cisse has just the one yellow card left on his record from the match, and will not have to serve a one-match ban.
According to The Guardian, "senior figures at the FA" are "considering whether to investigate Ashley Cole for his part in the incident".
Steve Bruce does not appear to have joined the media slagging-off of Ashley Cole. But his chairman has said some stronger things including, "Even Arsenal players patted him on the back and shook his hand, which speaks volumes." I think he's talking about Cisse rather than Cole.
