If Le Boss sticks to his word, we'll see Lauren return at right back for the trip to St Mary's on Monday night. He said before the Wolves game that Lauren will play in one of the next 2, and he wasn't even on the bench for that one. Cygan's good form has slipped somewhat, so Lauren at right back and Toure alongside Campbell sounds good to me (although Keown might come in to give Sol or Kolo a rest).
On the other side of defence, Ashley Cole misses the 3rd and final game of his suspension for the sending off at Leicester.
There was a doubt over the fitness of Bergkamp a few days ago so perhaps he'll be rested. Having said that, he was pretty influential against Wolves. Sylvain Wiltord was said to be fit again but didn't even make the bench against Wolves. But with 2 strikers on the bench in Aliadiere and Kanu, perhaps lack of fitness was not the reason for leaving him out (despite Wenger saying that he'll play a key role for us before the end of the season).
Apart from that, the big question in my mind is whether Ray Parlour did enough on Boxing Day to continue in Gilberto's place alongside Vieira.
Saints have a few players coming back from injury. Ecuador striker Agustin Delgado was a sub in their Boxing Day loss to Fulham. He's had a torrid time with injuries in his 2.5 years at Southampton, and despite looking promising is yet to score a league goal for them (he thought he had, against us 13 months ago, but it went down as a Toure o.g.). Given the poor attacking show against Fulham, Strachan may decide to bring Delgado in from the start. But Marian Pahars is available too having recovered from a thigh strain. Rory Delap is back too, having got over an ankle injury. Keeper Paul Jones returns having recovered from a virus, but Graeme Le Saux is out still with a hamstring problem so Danny Higginbotham will continue in his place.
