Arsenal 1 - 0 Aston Villa
Man Utd 2 - 1 Tottenham
It almost seemed possible for a while. Les Ferdinand's
opening goal at Old Trafford making the possibility of
a draw there slightly less unlikely. But Beckham equalised
just before half-time, and Cole got the winner early in the
second half.
Meanwhile at Highbury Arsenal were all over Villa, and
Kanu's second half goal kept the pressure on United. Sadly
Tottenham's second half couldn't match their first, and
United hung on to take the title back up north, by a point.
At the other end of the table, Charlton's loss was academic
as Southampton's win sent them down with Blackburn and Forest.
